How Are DIY Claw Crane Kits Manufactured?

Hiclawcrane DIY claw crane kits are designed and manufactured at our own factory, giving us full control over quality, component selection, and customization. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how each kit is made.

Step 1: Component Sourcing

Every kit starts with carefully selected components:

  • Steel frame: Cold-rolled steel cut and bent to precise dimensions for structural rigidity
  • Acrylic panels: High-clarity acrylic sheets laser-cut for the display windows
  • Control board (PCB): Custom-designed PCB with programmable claw strength, timing, and coin/token settings
  • Claw mechanism: Precision-engineered metal claw with adjustable grip strength
  • Motors: High-torque DC motors for smooth X/Y/Z axis movement
  • LED lighting: Energy-efficient LED strips for interior illumination
  • Joystick & buttons: Arcade-grade controls rated for high-cycle durability

Step 2: Frame Fabrication

The steel frame is cut using CNC machines for consistent dimensions across all units. Frames are then:

  • Welded at key joints for structural strength
  • Ground smooth to remove sharp edges
  • Powder-coated or painted in the specified color

Step 3: PCB Assembly & Programming

Our control boards are assembled in-house using SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production lines. Each PCB is:

  • Soldered with precision pick-and-place machines
  • Flashed with our custom firmware
  • Tested for electrical continuity and function

The firmware controls claw strength cycles, play time, coin/token acceptance, and prize detection.

Step 4: Mechanical Assembly

Trained assembly technicians build each kit unit by unit:

  • Frame assembly and panel fitting
  • Motor and rail installation for X/Y/Z movement
  • Claw mechanism attachment and calibration
  • Wiring harness routing and connection
  • LED installation and testing

Step 5: Quality Control Testing

Every unit goes through a full QC inspection before packaging:

  • Claw movement test across full range of motion
  • Claw strength calibration verification
  • Coin/token acceptor function test
  • LED and lighting check
  • Control board diagnostic scan
  • Prize chute and delivery mechanism test

Units that fail any test are returned for rework before re-inspection.

Step 6: Packaging for Shipping

Approved units are disassembled into kit form for safe international shipping:

  • Components grouped and labeled for easy assembly
  • Foam padding and corner protectors for fragile parts
  • Assembly manual included in English (other languages available for OEM orders)
  • Export carton with weight and dimension markings for customs

Kit Assembly by the Customer

Our DIY kits are designed to be assembled without specialist tools. Most customers complete assembly in 2–4 hours using the included manual. Key assembly steps include:

  1. Frame assembly
  2. Panel installation
  3. Motor and rail fitting
  4. Wiring connection (color-coded harness)
  5. Control board setup and calibration
  6. Test play and prize loading
